Court Reporters
Carol Tayloe
Carol came to the Tidewater, Virginia, area to begin her court reporting career with Tayloe Associates in 1977 after graduating from court reporting school in California. Certifications include the RPR, RMR and CMRS, all awarded by the National Court Reporters Association, and the CCR, awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Carol is a past president of the Virginia Court Reporters Association, (2004 - 2006), and has served on various committees of the National Court Reporters Association. When not in the courtroom, Carol can be found on the tennis courts or kayaking.
Rebecca Braley
Rebecca graduated from the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1995 and began working as a court reporter for Tayloe Associates. Prior to that she worked for Tayloe as a secretary. Certifications include the RPR and RMR, both awarded by the National Court Reporters Association, and the CCR, awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Rebecca enjoys horseback riding, running, reading and cooking in her spare time.
Jamie Hester
Jamie attended the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating in 1995. Upon graduation she relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was employed at Schindhelm and Associates as a court reporter until 1996 and joined Tayloe in 1997. Previous to that Jamie worked for local law firms Marcus, Santoro and Kozak and Joannou, Knowles and Clark. She has also worked as a court reporting instructor at the Virginia School of Technology and mentored many court reporting students throughout the years. Certifications include the CCR awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Jamie was born and raised in the Tidewater area and now makes her home in Chesapeake.
Kathie Vermillion
Kathie is a native of Tidewater Virginia and graduated from the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1983. She has been with Tayloe Associates since 1985 and holds the RPR certification awarded by the National Court Reporters Association. Kathie has two children, Liz and Chip, both of whom live in Richmond, Virginia. When not working, Kathie enjoys gardening, playing golf and Mah Jong.
Kristi Weaver
Kristi graduated from the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1990 and joined Tayloe Associates in 1991. Certifications include the RPR, awarded by the National Court Reporters Association, and the CCR, awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. In her spare time, Kristi enjoys the beach, camping, fishing, and attending her boys' sporting events.
Michelle Cobb
Michelle has been a court reporter in the Tidewater area since 2003. She came to work for Tayloe in 2002 as part of Tayloe's office staff while enrolled in court reporting school. Once graduating from the Virginia School of Technology in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Michelle then began her career with Tayloe as a court reporter. Her certifications include the CCR awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Michelle lives in Suffolk, Virginia, where she spends much of her free time gardening and enjoys the quietness of living in the country. She has a son who is in the United States Navy.
Mary Labonte
Mary began her court reporting career in 1991 in her home state of Massachusetts, where she worked as a court reporter for three years before relocating to the Tidewater, Virginia, area and joining Tayloe Associates in June of 1994. She holds an associate's degree in business administration from Holyoke Community College and an associate's degree in court reporting from Springfield Technical Community College in Massachusetts. Certifications include the RPR awarded by the National Court Reporters Association and the CCR awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Mary and her husband, Don, have a son and reside in Virginia Beach.
Patti Meyers
Patti attended the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating in 1996. While attending court reporting school she worked in the office at Tayloe Associates and upon graduation began her employment as a court reporter at Tayloe. Certifications include the CCR awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Prior to becoming a court reporter she worked as a legal secretary at Weisberg & Stein in Norfolk, Virginia. Patti is married and has one daughter.
Scott Gregg
Scott attended reporting school at the College of Legal Arts in Portland, Oregon. Upon graduation from school in 1995, he worked for Moore & Henderson in Portland and came to Virginia in 1996 to join the Tayloe team. Scott is a past president of the Virginia Court Reporters Association, (2006 - 2008), and holds the RPR certification from the National Court Reporters Association. He is married to his lovely wife, Renee, and has a son, Isaac.
Shell Riddle
Shell attended the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon graduation in 1988, she began working for Tayloe Associates. Certifications include the RPR awarded by the National Court Reporters Association and the CCR awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. When not working, Shell spends time with and is very involved in her two daughters' activities.
Susan Ronan
Sue has been a court reporter in the Tidewater, Virginia, area since arriving here in 1984 from New York State and has been with Tayloe since 1986. Prior to that she was an official court reporter for the State of New York for six years. Sue attended Bay State Business College in Boston, Massachusetts, from 1975 to 1976 and transferred to Spencer Business Institute in Schenectady, New York, graduating in 1977. Certifications include the CCR awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Sue is married to Larry, and they have four children and one beautiful granddaughter.
Suzanne Myers
Susan worked for RCA Service Company as a top secret clearance level tech before attending the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon graduation in 1997, she began working at Tayloe Associates. Certifications include the RPR and RMR, both awarded by the National Court Reporters Association. In her spare time, Susan enjoys exercising, reading, listening to the sound of the ocean, and spending time with her husband and their "children" (pets.)
Tracy Hand
Tracy graduated from Brown College of Court Reporting in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1985, at which time she began reporting for Tayloe Associates . In 1987 a military transfer resulted in her moving to Hawaii, where she reported for Ralph Rosenberg Court Reporters until 1990 and then she returned to Virginia and began working again for Tayloe. Tracy's certifications include the RPR awarded by the National Court Reporters Association. Tracy was born and raised in Virginia Beach, and in her spare time she enjoys riding her horse, working out, biking, hiking and being outdoors.
Tracy Marinelli
Tracy has been reporting in the Tidewater, Virginia, area since 1983. She attended the Reporting Academy of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and upon graduation worked for Associated Court Reporters for eight years, Adams, Harris & Martin for three years and began employment with Tayloe Associates in 1994. Her certifications include the RPR awarded by the National Court Reporters Association. Tracy has been married to her husband Ed for 28 years and has two beautiful children. Tracy enjoys spending her weekends watching her sons play soccer, playing tennis, reading, exercising and dancing.
Emily Clark
After graduating from Central Pennsylvania Business College with degrees in both court reporting and legal secretarial studies, Emily worked for George Geiger Reporting Services in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Filius & McLucas Reporting in York, Pennsylvania. Trading the hills and valleys of Pennsylvania for the coastal plains of North Carolina, Emily joined Tayloe in 2006. Certifications include the RPR and RMR both awarded by the National Court Reporters Association. Emily enjoys gardening, bird watching and many facets of needlework. She has a son who lives in Harrisburg.
Sheila Matthews
Sheila graduated from the Reporting Academy of Virginia, in Springfield, Virginia, in 1995 and spent the first ten years of her career working in Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. She joined Tayloe Associates in 2006. In her spare time, Sheila loves watching her teenage children play soccer and lacrosse and enjoys attending UVA football games with her husband.
Katie Tayloe
Katie graduated from Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 2006 and from Fortis College of Court Reporting in Norfolk, Virginia, in 2010. Upon graduation Katie worked for Tayloe Associates, then briefly worked in Clearwater, Florida, and is now back at Tayloe. In her spare time Katie enjoys doing yoga and going to the beach.
Kimberly Belbin
Kim attended the Virginia School of Technology and began reporting in 2003 in Richmond, Virginia. She began working with Tayloe Associates in 2009. Certifications include the RPR, awarded by the National Court Reporters Association, and the CCR, awarded by the Virginia Court Reporters Association. Kim's hobbies are reading, movies, spending time with family.
Videographers
Rebecca Miller
Rebecca has worked as a videographer for Tayloe since September of 2010; specializing in legal depositions, mediations support, in-house videoconferencing, and digital trial presentations. Rebecca also works in Tayloe's production department binding transcripts, copying exhibits, and making sure the attorneys receive their transcripts in a timely manner. As a native to the area she graduated in May of 2009 from Virginia Wesleyan College, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with an Emphasis in Mass Media and a Minor in Studio Arts. When Rebecca is not working, you can find her relaxing in a hammock on the beach.
David Andre
David came to work for Tayloe as a videographer in 2008. He received his CLVS certification awarded by the National Court Reporters Association in 2011 and graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 2008 with a degree in Communications. As a videographer, David specializes in legal depositions, mediation support, in-house videoconferencing and digital trial presentation. David was born and raised in Virginia Beach and in his spare time likes to surf.
Office Staff
Sue Dinger - Bookkeeper
Sue graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia, and worked for the Norfolk Police Department and courts before beginning employment with Tayloe Associates in 1978. Starting out typing transcripts for reporters and answering the phone, she moved into the position of bookkeeper in 1980. In her spare time Sue loves crafting, especially knitting and crochet, and looking for the eagles at Norfolk Botanical Gardens.
Stacie Peters - Proofreader
Stacie has worked at Tayloe Associates as a proofreader since September 2007. Before joining Tayloe she was a quality assurance analyst and product development assistant for a marketing firm. She graduated from Millersville University with a BA in English as well as a minor in Journalism.
Melody Sumpter - Administrative Assistant
Melody started with Tayloe Associates in 2003 as the receptionist/billing clerk. She now handles not only billing but collections as well and helps maintain the RB8 billing system. She is currently completing her Associate's degree in Business Administration and enjoys spending time with her two very active children, photography, scrapbooking and walking in her spare time.
